Mrs Asma Assad honors Al Farah Choir

Mrs. Asma al-Assad, held a reception in honor of the group (Alfarah Choir) which toured the U.S. earlier this year.

Because of its effort to prove that every Syrian citizen, no matter what age or position, can play a part in Syria’s development process, The President and The First Lady of Syria have supported and commended the Choir’s work over the past years. In a step to further acknowledge the Choir’s efforts towards Syria’s development.

The choir has been very successful in its aim to preserve cultural music and promote interfaith dialogue. In February and March 2009, and by invitation from the Kennedy Centre in Washington, DC, over 100 children from the choir participated in a United States tour, promoting Arab and Byzantine music, as well as other inter-religious songs.
